Arthur laid in his bed taking heavy breathes.
'This is bad...' he thought to himself.
He sat up in his bed and put his head in his hands and just keeps breathing.
'I don't want to go to this meeting today...' he thought.
He got up slowly from his bed and headed to his bathroom, he splashed some cold water in his face and stared at himself in the mirror for  moment then started to get undressed to take a shower.
He stepped into the water and let the warmth of it surround him.
'All I have to do is get through this day with no problems...hopefully...'

It was a day of a world meeting and it was being held in America, Arthur wasn't really looking forward to going to the meeting and especially not looking forward to seeing that annoying American that he knew would start yammering about other things than the meeting, like the one day that Arthur hated the most that he knew was getting closer and closer, 'Greeeeeat...' he thought to himself while he got onto his private jet to get to the meeting.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

As he stepped into the meeting room he looked around and noticed that only a few people were there waiting for everyone else, Kiku, Ludwig, Feliciano, he believed that ones name was Matthew, Yao, Ivan, and unfortunately Alfred.

Arthur made an irritated face at the American then turned his head to go to his seat. He sat down and two seconds later he felt and fairly rough hand land on his shoulder, he looked behind him and he made a frown at who it was.

"Hey Artie." Alfred said with huge smile on his face.
Arthur looked even more irritated at him and said, "What do you want you twit?"
Alfred handed him a small sheet of paper, Arthur looked at it then at the smiling American then back at the paper and took it from him. He frowned even more when he saw what the paper was for, it was an invitation for Alfred's upcoming birthday party.

He was about to tell Alfred straight up 'no', but when he turned around the American already went off to talk to someone else about who-knows-what. Arthur turned back around and crumpled the invite and tossed in the trash can a foot away.

----------------------------------------

The meeting finally ended with, just as Arthur thought, hardly anything done.
Arthur was packing up to leave till he noticed a shadow of someone over him, he looked up and frowned again seeing that it was Alfred. The Brit tried to ignore him and get up to leave but the American put a little more gentler hand on his shoulder.

Arthur looked at him with a raised brow, "What now Alfred?"
Alfred looked at Arthur then got a little closer.
Arthur got a tint of a blush on his cheeks and backed up a little.

"Arthur, are you feeling ok?" Arthur was a little surprised that he didn't call him one of those annoying nicknames he had for him, "Yes...why wouldn't I be?" Arthur said trying to walk off again, only to be stopped by a hand grabbing his wrist. He was about to turn around and tell the American to let go till he felt Alfred's hand on his forehead.

Arthur just stood there with a bigger blush than before, 'Why the hell am I blushing?'
"Jeez Arthur your burning up! Are you sure your ok?"
Arthur pushed his hand away from his head and said ,"Of course I'm fine you git, now if you would be so kind as to let go of my wrist, I would like to go home." Arthur tried to pull his hand away but it seemed as though the American would have none of it.

"I'm really worried about you..."
he Brit looked at him surprised and said, "...why?"
"I just am, your not really actin' like yourself lately, you seem a bit down."

Arthur just turned away from him and quickly took his hand back, "It's 'acting' not 'actin',  and I'm fine you stupid git." Alfred just kept staring at Arthur with a look of worry and the Brit could feel it.

Arthur started to feel a little light-headed. He stood there for a moment trying to regain himself before he started to walk off.

"Wait Artie," Arthur was slightly relieved that the American was going back to the annoying nickname, meaning he would leave his health alone at the moment. He turned back to Alfred, "um..i was wondering, are ya gonna come to my party next week?" The American looked hopeful.

Arthur looked at the American and the look on his face, he started to get irritated, "Why would I go to a birthday party for you?"

The American's face fell, "But Artie...it's my birthday...don't you wanna congratulate me?"
That struck a nerve, "Congratulate you? You expect me, of all people to congratulate you?! You left me! Why on earth would I congratulate you on that?!"

Arthur's head went blurry and he stumbled backwards. Alfred caught him before he fell and Arthur pushed him away just as fast as he was caught. Alfred had the worried face from before and Arthur just brushed it off, "I'm going home." Arthur grabbed his suitcase and ran out of the building.

----------------------------------------

Instead of heading straight back to England, Arthur got a hotel in America, he didn't think he could handle a long flight at the moment, and lied on the bed trying to get his head to stop throbbing and sweating.

He got up and went to his suitcase to look for his thermometer, he took his temperature and a moment later looked at it to see that it was a lot higher than when he looked at it at home in England. "It's getting worse..." he mumbled to himself, "Maybe I should see a doctor soon." He walked back to his suitcase to return the thermometer and take out his pajamas.

Just as he was about to get undressed out of his formal clothes to get into his sleeping wear he heard a knock at the door. He remembered the fact that he didn't really tell anyone where he was staying the night so the sudden knock on the door startled him.

He walked over to the door and looked through the eye-hole, he had to go on his toes because of his height which bothered him a little, but he passed it off and checked to see who was on the other side of the door.

To his annoyance he saw a certain American who he was on his nerves recently, but none the less when he saw the American on the other side he blushed, 'Why is he here?' He asked himself before opening the door. When the door was open Alfred gave his signature smile and said, "Hey Artie!"

Arthur growled and replied, "Arthur....and what do you want Alfred?" Alfred's smile went down a little and turned into the worried look he had earlier and said, "Well you didn't look so well when you left the meeting and I wanted to see if you were alri-" Arthur interrupted him and asked, "Wait, how did you find out where I was even staying tonight? I didn't tell anyone."

Alfred looked a Arthur for a moment as if the question was in a foreign language. He blushed as he answered, "Well I sorta...followed you...once you left...heh" he laughed nervously once he finished explaining.

Arthur attempted to close the door on the American but Alfred wasn't planning t let that happen, "Please Artie I'm sorry!! I just wanted to make sure that you were feeling alright!" Alfred said in a bit of a panic. Arthur feeling a bit week at the moment knew he couldn't keep Alfred out right now so he did what he only could do.

"Just get in here you ninny and stop shouting!" Arthur pulled the loud American in and shut the door before turning around to yell at Alfred again, but what he wasn't expecting was how close Alfred got to his face.

"A-Alfred, what are you doing?" Arthur said as Alfred put his forehead to the Brit's. If Arthur wasn't blushing before he knew for a fact he was then. Alfred back away from Arthur's head and said, "Jeez Artie, your temperature has gotten worse! Maybe you should go to the doctors?" Arthur pushed his blush down and said, "I'm fine alright? I don't need you here telling me something that doesn't even involve you!" Alfred's face fell when Arthur said that to him.

"Now could you please just go?" Arthur asked Alfred. Alfred was just about to head out the door, but when he turned to try and say something else to Arthur he noticed that he wasn't looking very stable.

"Artie?" Was the only thing he got out before the Brit started cough and didn't seem to be stopping, then once he did he started to fall to the floor, Alfred ran and caught him before he fell all the way down.

He grabbed the phone and quickly called an ambulance for Arthur. As he waited for the ambulance. Alfred did anything he could to keep the Brit breathing at least since he didn't really know much about medical stuff.

After laying Arthur on the bed and checking his temperature again he went to the bathroom to go grab a small towel to wet and put on the Brit's head. Alfred sat on the bed next to Arthur and checked his breathing again, "What can I do? ...I can't even do anything to help him now...." Alfred mumbled to himself. He wanted nothing more right now than to help Arthur get better.

Alfred then put the Brit into his lap and held him close, 'Why am I suddenly feeling very protective of him? I mean I have been protective of him before but never this much.' He thought to himself as he looked down at an unconscious Arthur.

Before he even knew what he was doing he bent down a little and laid a couples kisses on Arthur's forehead. 'I don't care what the reason is for me being over protective for him right now is... I just want him to be alright.' he laid one more kiss on the Brits face before he noticed the ambulance lights outside. He picked Arthur up into his arms and ran outside.
